One trip, five days, all of it between Amsterdam and Delft. The cast-iron bicycle is a foundry second, bought by the crate; the vase comes from a workshop that still paints cobalt under the glaze by hand. Both are heavier than they look, which is a Dutch habit we have grown fond of.
